web application, and related services (the “Service”) available at https://bqbeatz.com/
and our hosted web app.
We respect your privacy and aim to handle personal information lawfully and
transparently, including in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information
Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa where it applies.

1. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to:
Registered users (hosts) who create an account to manage playlists, purchase
tokens, and host games
Players who join a game without creating an account
Visitors who browse our website or use parts of the Service without signing in
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account information (hosts)
When you register, we collect and store:

2.3 Payment information
Payments are processed by Ozow, a third-party payment provider. When you pay:
We send Ozow information such as your email address (or user identifier),
transaction reference, amount, and plan duration
Ozow handles your banking or payment details directly
We do not receive or store your full bank account or card details
Ozow’s handling of payment data is governed by Ozow’s own privacy policy and terms.

2.4 Playlist information (hosts)
When you create a local playlist, we store metadata about your playlist in Firestore,
including:
Playlist title and description
Song metadata: title, artist, file name, file size, and local file path/URI on your
device
The folder path you selected on your computer
Song count, playlist type, and creation timestamp
Important: We do not upload or store your actual audio files. Music remains on your
device and is played locally by the application.

2.5 Game information (hosts)
When you create and run a game, we may store:
Game name, description, and settings
Selected playlist and song metadata used in the game
Game progress (such as current song index and completion status)
Bingo card structure and related game state
Your user ID as the creator of the game
This data is used to operate live games and allow players to join and sync with the
session.

2.6 Player information (guests)
Players can join games without creating an account. When they do, we may collect and
store:

Display name chosen by the player Identifying the player in the game
Bingo card / grid data
Running the game
Join timestamp
Game management
Player session identifiers may also be stored in the player’s browser local storage so
they can rejoin the same game on the same device.
We do not require players to provide an email address or phone number to join a game.

When you use the Service, certain technical information may be processed automatically
by our infrastructure providers, including:
Device and browser type
IP address (typically processed by Firebase/Google Cloud as part of hosting and
security)
Authentication session data
Error and performance logs where enabled by our hosting platform

card) may be visible to the host and, depending on game design, other participants.

5.3 Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority,
or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the
integrity of the Service.

5.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be
transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide the Service and maintain your account
Honour active subscription periods and transaction records
Resolve disputes and enforce our Terms
Meet legal, accounting, or regulatory requirements

advertising profiles.
You can clear local storage through your browser settings, but doing so may sign you out
or remove saved player session data.

10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has
provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate

11. International Data Transfers
Our Service relies on cloud infrastructure that may process data outside South Africa,
including in countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your
home jurisdiction. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate
safeguards are in place through our service providers’ contractual and security
commitments.
